The best priced Power Rack is the PowerLine Power Rack – Silver (PPR200X). This is a solid option for most people.   With a 600lb limit, it can easily handle anything under 500lbs. It also has a pullup bar on the front which is useful for developing your back muscles doing pull-ups.  Lastly, it has a 10-year warranty on the frame and 1-yr on all other parts.

This power rack is under $350, making it extremely affordable for nearly everyone.  Why buy a pull up bar, a squat rack and more when you can just buy a solid power rack?  One of the best deals around, check it out all the details and reviews by clicking HERE

Silver Level Power Rack – Powertec Power Rack

The Powertec Power Rack is one of the best power racks for the money.  It comes with a chin up and dip bar that can hold 400lbs.  Also, you can make the dip bar either wide or narrow, to hit all your muscle groups.

As you can see in this picture, you can put a bench and lat pull in the power rack to finish off a nice home gym.

Gold Level Power Rack – BodyCraft Power Rack

The BodyCraft F430 Power Rack is a rack for the money. It’s made of heavy duty 12 gauge steel and the supports hold 800 lbs (this rack weighs 150 lbs more than the Powerline, so you can imagine the difference in quality). Speaking of all the weight, this one comes with free shipping, which can make a big difference when it comes to shipping costs.

This rack also comes with a pull-up bar which is very important for most people, and especially for us.  These supports are extremely tough with push pins to make it easy to transition to different heights.  The rubber coating on the hooks makes it so your bar is never damaged as well.

We also recommend grabbing the $30 dip attachment too!

Last but not least, a lifetime warranty is included on the entire rack. With tons of great reviews, a solid price, and free shipping, we love this rack. For pricing, and to read the reviews, click HERE

A great option for those looking for a squat rack / power rack combo that still has support rungs for your squats.

BodyCraft Jones

A popular alternative to doing free weight lifts inside a power rack, is the BodyCraft Jones Machine.  Unlike smith machines that are locked into a fixed plane, only allowing you to go up and down, the BodyCraft Jones Smith Machine allows you to move through horizontal and vertical planes of motion.  All you need to do is twist your wrists a bit to load or unload the weight, so it is very convenient.

While these are a bit more expensive, they have great reviews, and only one who talks about these being dangerous.  However, doing any lifting can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing.  So, if you prefer to have something like a smitch machine, only better, check this one out.

A Power Rack vs a Squat Rack?

There are some big differences between a power rack and squat stand.

Squat Stands:  These are usually a lot cheaper than a power rack, but they don’t provide you any safety if you fail a lift.  This is important to consider, because most of you will be weight lifting at home by yourself.  Even if you do have a partner to train with, who can catch 300-400+lbs once it has momentum?  No one.   That is why there are safety bars on power rack.  Watch this video for a great example, not that this would ever happen to you…

The point is, it can happen to anyone without a power rack, as I have seen it happen to people who move 500… 800 lbs and are very skilled weight lifters and Olympic lifters.    The idea behind owning a rack, is that you don’t have have to worry about training at home.  Do you want a used power rack or a power rack for sale is a great question.  If you’re looking for a power rack for sale, click the links listed near any power rack that interests you.  A good power rack gym or a cheap power rack can be found by looking at our first option.  You won’t find a cheap power rack for less than the first one, the Powerline power rack is the cheapest rack you will find.  A common misspelling of the powertec power rack is the powertech power rack but they are the same one.    There are The best power rack would be the one we have listed above.  You can do a bench press in a power rack cage very easily.

Power Rack

The best power rack is the one you feel comfortable using.  Make sure when using a rack for weight lifting you pick one that suits both your immediate ability and the goals you hope to achieve in the future.  There is no point to own two different power racks if you do some good planning.  You might as well pay the extra two hundred dollars if you will be lifting some serious weight in the near future.  The reason you want to avoid this, is because a good rack is meant to last you many years, if not your entire life.  Many of these racks have a lifetime guarantee with them, so you won’t have to be worried about them breaking any time soon.  Also, you will be able to sell them after awhile, which is important to remember.  That is why it should be considered an investment, and not an expense, even though it may seem like a lot of money to spend.  If you think about it though, a power tower that has a dip bar and a pull up bar is going to cost you at least one hundred dollars.  Also, a squat stand will be at least one hundred and fifty, so why not spend the extra two hundred dollars for a beast of a rack?  It makes no sense to spend all that other money, if you could just spend a bit more and have an awesome beast that will last you a long time.  Another great thing to consider, is that you can use it as a bench press too.  Simply using the supports as your rack, or lifting off the rungs and having the supports very close to your chest level if you fail a lift.  This is a great way to push yourself past your pain barrier and get those extra few forced reps! The best power rack will have power rack accessories that come with it and you will just have to make sure to read the power rack reviews to make sure you are getting everything you want in a power rack.
